Step 1: Determine Asset Type

You must decide whether to register the car as a private or company asset. Non-EU citizens might only have the option to register the car as a company asset, as the private registration process can take significantly longer due to the requirement of obtaining a D visa and residency.

Option 1: Ready-Made Company

  • Cost: Starting from 900 EUR VAT excluded
  • Process:
    • We provide a ready-made company, which can be transferred fully remotely by certifying a Power of Attorney (POA) at the nearest Bulgarian embassy or consulate.
    • The company will be transferred to your name within 5-7 working days after receiving the certified POA.
    • Requirements:
      • Propose a company name and business activities.
      • Provide a copy of the director/shareholder’s passport.
      • Confirm invoicing details (either private details or company details).
    • You will receive an electronic invoice. After payment, we will draft and email the POA for certification.
  • The company transfer documents can be also signed with a notary in Bulgaria.

Option 2: Residency Card

  • Cost: 800 EUR VAT excluded
  • Process:
    • This service requires a personal visit and is completed within 3 working days through our Plovdiv Office.

Step 2: Car Registration Process

Once your company is transferred to your name or you have obtained a residency card, follow these steps:

  1. Location: Bring your car to 10 Stefan Verkovich Str., fl. 1, 4000 Plovdiv.
  2. Payment:
    • 650 EUR, which includes eco tax, annual insurance, MOT, plates, and our service fees.
    • Note: The service fee may vary if your car was previously registered in Bulgaria or based on the car’s engine power.
  3. Power of Attorney:
    • A POA for car registration will be certified within 15 minutes at a local notary near our office.
  4. Traffic Office:
    • We can drive the car to the Traffic Office, or you can drive it there yourself (2, Napredak Str., Plovdiv)
    • The registration process takes around 4 hours but may extend until the Traffic Office’s closing hours.
  5. Final Step:
    • After registration, the car will be driven back to our office at 10 Stefan Verkovich Str.
    • You will visit the notary again to certify a second POA, authorizing yourself as the company director to drive the car as a private person outside of Bulgaria.

Important Note:

  • The registered office address of the company or your residency rental address determines the Traffic Office where the car should be registered.
  • Our team provides car registration services only through the Plovdiv Traffic Office.
  • You have to bring the car to Bulgaria annually for the MOT.
